I mean, his dad replaced his own son in a commercial because he thought his son wasn't worth being in the commercial. In Pierce's case this was due to advanced age and his offensive opinions on race, religion and sex. The season would have been saved if Donald or Chevy stayed on, but losing them both made the show worse. I still relate more to Jeff and Abed though.Of course, the whole story never matters to people.I don't really relate to Pierce, but I truly think he was the best character in the show. During a wake held in the cafeteria, he helps to incite a riot, which gets him and the study group kicked out of Greendale. This gets the attention of his father who disapproves of his decision.
Pierce's place within the study group was best described by Abed as being the scapegoat. He was a prick, but he was also the hero in Advance Dungeons and Dragons, while still being a prick. From there they gave him really good sentimental moments, but then I felt like they ruined him by turning him around and being too much of a self centered jackass.Another great example, again from season 2, was the anti-drug episode.
