Not surprisingly the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail, often referred to as simply the Outlet Trail, follows a generally downhill course from the outlet of Keuka Lake in Penn Yan to the inlet along Seneca Lake in Dresden. Be sure to catch a ride with Finger Lake Seaplanes!This area of the Finger Lakes of New York is quite beautiful - thanks to a late fall foliage season, our late October visit was made all the more spectacular. The trail's descent from Keuka Lake to Seneca Lake is gradual, and so the trail can be traveled in either direction with relative ease. The are wineries everywhere and it's impossible to visit them all in 1 tour and to remember it.
Excellent bargains await as you visit. We decided to walk to the Seneca Falls first, which was about a mile from the starting place at the park. Penn Yan is a cute town, gorgeous lake. He led us to the right and in about half a block he led us into the Angels Family restaurant.
Soon after we passed the Keuka Lake State Park with tent and RV camping and boat launch and beach swimming facilities.
