We created Cambridge IGCSE more than 30 years ago. 指導を担当する講師は、お子様のスケジュールと講師の空きスケジュールが合うかどうか、お子様の性格やお母様のご希望を総合的に考慮し、決定いたします。初めてTCKで授業を受けたのはYear 10で IGCSE First Language Japanese を受験したときです学校の試験担当の先生からはFIRST LANGUAGEの難度が高いことを指摘され準備不足を懸念されたりもしましたが、そのことで一層先生と息子のモチベーションが上がり、「IGCSE」とは（International General Certificate of Secondary Education）の略で、「GCSE」とは、イギリスの高校生のための資格で、「英国義務教育修了資格試験」と呼称されます。イギリスにおける11年間の義務教育を修了する全ての学生が取得する資格で、16歳の時、つまり学齢ではYear11（日本でいうところの高校1年生）に最終評価が決定します。GCSE取得後は「GCSE A-Level」か「IBDP（国際バカロレアディプロマ）」を取得し、大学に出願しますが、大学進学へのルートは様々です。就職に強い学校に行くのか、名門といわれる大学にいって研究に勤しむのか、どんな成績をとっていても、大学受験時の試験をパスできればOKな日本の受験と比べると、かなり意識を高くもって学習をしていかねば、自分の希望の進路に進めなくなってしまう、かなり厳しい教育システムになっています。日本の中学校の学習科目は両手で数えることができる数ですが、GCSEの科目数は、細かく分けるとかなりの数があります。その中から自由に選択できる科目もありますが、もちろん絶対に履修しなければならない必修科目もあります。選択科目についてですが、言語（フランス語、スペイン語、ドイツ語など）、歴史、地理、アート、写真、PE（体育）、音楽、ビジネス、フードテクノロジー、デザインテクノロジーなど多種多様です。このカテゴリーから選択したい科目を選んでいくのですが、学校によっては主要科目は取るように指示されることが多いので「言語」「歴史」「地理」から履修することが多いです。さて、本題である「GCSE」と「IGCSE」の違いですが、「IGCSE」は「インターナショナル・スクール生を対象にした「英国の義務教育終了資格試験」なので、たとえば、「英語」では、古典を履修しなくても良い構造になっており、数学に強いアジア人インター生にはハイスコアが取りやすくなっています。こういった背景もあり、イギリスの学校でも、進学実績を重視する学校では「IGCSE」が採用されており、アジア圏のインターナショナルスクールでも採用実績は高くなっています。1〜9までのスコアで評価されます。9が最高スコアで、1が最低スコアです。下記は2015年から２０１８年までのスコア分布になります。履修開始から試験まで2年間の勉強期間がありますが、GCSEは「Math」「Science」の科目に力を入れているので、難関名門大学を目指すなら文系でも理系科目の成績は重要視されます。数学やサイエンスのように最終試験でスコアが決まる科目もありますが、「コントロールドアセスメント」と呼ばれるコースワークや各モジュールが終わった時点での評価の一部が最終スコアに反映される評価方法をとっている科目もあります。英語やアートが「コントロールドアセスメント」に当てはまります。近年は、コントロールドアセスメントでの評価よりは、最終スコアで評価するような傾向になってきているようです。リマーク（Remark)は「評価に納得がいきません。採点をもう一度やり直して下さい。」と採点者側に要求することです。GCSEには、日本の正誤問題のような問題でなはく、記述問題が多いので、もう一度、採点のやり直しを要求することでスコアが上がることもあります。ただし、リシット(Resit)は、IB(国際バカロレア)のリテイク(Retake)と似ている制度で「翌年試験を再度受けること」です。試験結果が自分の予想よりも悪かった場合、もう一度試験を受けることができ、１回目と2回目のスコアを比べ、良いスコアを採用してくれます。SATのSuperScoreと似ています。毎週1時間の授業を3ヶ月受けた後無事A*を取ることができ、またTop in Chinaの賞も頂くことが出来ました

What is IGCSE. Cambridge IGCSE was first examined in June 1988 (introduced for first teaching in September 1986). Getting IGSE coaching online is possible, but the examination must be done by going to the exam center and writing out the responses to the questions in the traditional way.
