It was too far to walk to some attractions but the free DASH routes (bus) were so close it wasn't an issue. We also used UBER to get us to the Restaurants - as parking at the hotel was spendy and finding parking wasn't something we wanted to do. House is geared towards extended stay, which was great, we had a fridge and kitchen. The outdoor seating area with two fire pits was awesome after a night out on the town. Will try to remember to post back after my stay. The area is busy with construction but the noise was not a bother. Guest satisfaction is our top priority!We stayed here for bridge run 2019 and it was perfect.
There are several newer bars and restaurants in this area, although they are somewhat pricey and some are a bit pretentious.
Its location is ideal for visiting nearby tourist attractions, like The Charleston Museum, as well as being surrounded by several dining options. We stayed at the Hyatt House because they have an omelet bar in their free breakfast, while the Place does not. Your recommendation of Hyatt House Charleston Historic District is greatly appreciated! Both have breakfast so good to go.

The A/C was really loud so we just shut it off.Sinead, it's pleasing to hear you had a satisfying overall stay with us and enjoyed many aspects of your Charleston experience. Hyatt house is newer, clean, and modern and way more affordable than most hotels in Charleston. The property comprises a modern Hyatt House apartment-style hotel, designed for extended-stay guests, and a Hyatt Place hotel, a brand in the premium segment. No bottle(s) of water offered. This way I will knock out 3 of the brands in 2017 (even though I don't think award stays qualify).I just stayed in the Hyatt House in January. I’ve stayed numerous times at the Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown as well as in other locations like Salt Lake City, Utah, and Charleston, South Carolina. The decor was nice but looking a little shabby in places.
