Gleaning inspiration from the traditional casual pubs of Japan, known as izakayas, Chef Michael Schulson gives diners the chance to experience a taste of the Far East without having to venture far from the casino floor. Ambitious menu fails to deliver due to subpar ingredients, although preparation probably makes the best of the hand it was dealt where it can with masking seasonings etc. This establishment has modern Japanese cuisine served in a lovely, classy lounge.

Great place to hang out with some peeps and grab a quick drink and a small snack on the side. Outside of the fantastic waiter, the rest of the service was sketchy.I'm pretty sure that Izakaya at The Borgata is the only sushi to be found for miles.
All ended up on the toilet late in the night to the next day.

Izakaya in Atlantic City, New Jersey is a fine dining option in the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa. This definitely wasn't my first time at izakaya and it definitely won't be my last. Toast your evening out at this restaurant with a glass of beer or wine from their lengthy drink list.
Izakaya offers many incredible options, including sushi rolls and signature sashimi crafted from the freshest ingredients; robatayaki, also known as Japanese-style barbecue; and an impressive array of sake. I didn't like the chicken robataki at all but I don't like dark meat chicken so that was why. My guess is they were possibly made in the morning from leftover unsold weekend fish inventory, ergo the Monday special. The shrimp fried rice was pretty good, as well as the sushi roll.
