He was the founder and president of the Association to Preserve Downtown Scottsdale’s Quality of Life and a co-founder of the Downtown Scottsdale Economic Vitality Coalition with former Scottsdale City Council members Betty Drake and Wayne Ecton.In addition, Bill has served on a number of boards and committees, including the U.S. Olympic Committee, Scottsdale Symphony, Chambers of Commerce and many other well-known organizations.He has also dedicated his efforts as a volunteer firefighter and search and rescue team member.For more than 22 years, Bill’s had the privilege of owning and operating a successful small business, Basic Training MedX, in Downtown Scottsdale with his wife Debbie.Basic Training MedX is a state of the art fitness and strength training center that provides memberships, professional science-based training services and weight loss programs using the finest equipment available anywhere.The Crawford’s knowledge and dedication to personal service help clients attain their fitness goals worldwide.In fact, they were recently voted Best of Scottsdale 2019 Scottsdale Progress - “Best Place to Exercise and Best Personal Trainer.”Bill has been a leader and visionary in fitness since 1977.

For the past two decades, he has fought to protect Scottsdale’s unique brand and quality of life, resulting in wins for our residents, neighborhoods and businesses.Bill has many community accomplishments, but one of his most notable achievements was working with downtown residents and businesses to address public safety and compatibility concerns regarding the Entertainment District in Downtown Scottsdale.His efforts in collaboration with Mayor Jim Lane were successful and led to a safer downtown through the development and implementation of multiple ordinances and innovative public safety solutions.Bill’s civic involvement and volunteerism has extended to numerous organizations over the years.
In addition, Bill was elected to chair the NFHOF board from 2015-2017.Bill also represented the NFHOF in Washington, DC and worked with two U.S. Priorities.
