All songs have an arc to them and flow wonderfully. Because this is, indeed a match made in the Heavens of the most romantic, heartfelt music you may ever hear .Made in the seventies, but sounding at this very moment as though it could have been made today.. Some light wear to jacket. If you don't....here's a good reason to start one !
And considering Nilsson's untimely passing, the album also takes on an enormous sense of poignancy. Your heart will thank you from here to eternity. Had forgotten how good the man was.

Nilsson had one personal flaw, he did what he wanted to without regards to its unintended consequences.

I originally owned this album as a cassette but decided to 'upgrade' to CD after viewing a film about Harry Nilsson reminding me what a superb singer he truly was however, this version has been remastered and I think the orchestral backing is now too obtrusive. Oh, Harry, I wish you hadn't gone from us so soon. This album is the very essence of romance, beauty, musicianship, and sheer joy to the ear of the listener. Loving the music his long lost father, and loving mother surrounded him with, Harry set out to perform with the best arranger/conductor Gordon Jenkins, and to sing tunes he admired, with an unintended purity that only 40 years later, makes total sense. The Bonus selections make this a sad, but beautiful tribute to songs that never die, and an epitaph to a genius who did not even know how to sing with a live orchestra and conductor, but pulled it off as every weird project he attempted did! This album is the very essence of romance, beauty, musicianship, and sheer joy to the ear of the listener. Would recommend this for your "late night" MP3 playlist if you have one.
Had the LP in the 70s - a real classic, so pleased to have found it again on CD and the supplier offered a fanatastic price compared to the UK prices - a great collection of music, arranged in a very special way and sung in a manner that is just Nilsson.

It is beautifully scored by Gordon Jenkins and has a 39-piece orchestra accompanying the songs which is beautiful in the earlier version but in this one it's sometimes a struggle to hear Harry's voice which is the reason I bought it.
The 18 track version was released in Europe and the UK as "As Time Goes By - A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night" good luck trying to find that CD.
